are we in europe or australia??

sorry we havent written in a while we have been quite busy. prague was really beautiful although i was disappointed in the castle. we only got to see a few rooms and all they would have was like a desk nothing to impressive inside. the castle was HUGE though. we also went to see the dracula musical which was awesome i did pretty well understanding what was going on even though it was in czech (brian not so much). we also saw a church that had over 40,000 skeletons inside they used the bones to make decorations such as a chandelier and ornaments for the wall. i didnt see much else than that in prague brian will have to write on that. at our last hostel and the one we are in now in poland there have been so many australians i really feel as if we are in australia. they are good people to be around though and sure know how to drink. i did a pub crawl in prague (brian was sick) and we didnt get home from the bars until 730 am and they proceeded to drink until 1 in the afternoon. poland was alright really cold though and for some reason i felt like i needed to wear flip flops everywhere (no idea how im not sick) and it was raining and below 40 degrees. we did go to auschwitz which was very interesting and mind boggling. we were only there for 2 days so brian did the walking tour but i was not up for it and i just slept all day so not much to say about the sites and i have no pictures from there because i lost my camera : (.
now im in budapest and brian is in vienna. we thought it would be a good idea to travel alone for a little bit to become more independent and just get away from each other. yesterday i saw the museum of terror and the castle. the museum was awesome i never realized how brutal the hungarians had it after world war II. it was actually similar to the concentration camp with the prison cells and the tortue methods they used. the exchange rate here is insane!!! one euro is 270 hungarian flt. which is about ahhh a lot of dollars ( i never exchange things back to dollars anymore). so i got dinner last night and it was 2200 flt which was about 8 euros! we were complaining about a 360 plt shot which was only about a euro and a half it was really funny actually. i am going to the baths tomorrow which should be AMAZING especially since tonight is the BIG night in budapest? and i believe BRATISLAVA the next day?
sorry for the long ramblings im trying to talk and type as well which is not really efficient. i have def learned that eastern europe is more about the partying than actual sightseeing
i will have brian post something about austria (bug him on facebook for it!)

ohhh hostels

so after traveling for over a month we have been to all kinds of hostels. some good some bad some VERY bad!! our hostel in munich was about 60 euro a night because it was during oktoberfest and the prices were outrageously high! normally we try to spend around 20 euro so that was a bit ridiculous. our hostel in brugge was highly recommended by rick steves so of course we had to go! no idea why he recommended it the room was not to bad except brian got attacked by mosquitos and had bites all over his arms and shoulders, but the showers were disgusting. they did not drain and for you to get any water you had to push a button the ENTIRE TIME. so imagine me trying to wash my hair and push a button behind me at the same time. we also had some showers in freiburg germany which were quite exposing. think real world show showers but at least the girls and boys were seperated. the water pressure was not that great either so we never really felt clean there. all of the backpackers agree for a shower to be GREAT all we need is one that drains, has good water pressure, is at least warm and has constant flow! our roommates have not been terribly bad, we did have some boys from ghana staying in the same room as us in berlin and they were quite interesting. they decided to come into the room at midnight and turn the lights on and keep them on for over an hour and then at 7 am they were up, listening to music and talking to everyone. one of them woke me up to ask how i was i wasnt very happy about that! brian had also been coughing for a while and one of the guys asked him if he had malaria!!! no one else has been to crazy yet a lot of australians. we finally met our first americans that are actually traveling and i cant say im to fond of them i think they have drank more beer in 2 nights than me and brian have the entire trip!!

Berlin to Praque

So we have been in berlin for the past 4 nights and we are officially WWII out. We did a guided tour and they talked mostly about WWII (some cold war and berlin wall stuff), spent 4-5 hours at a history museum learning only about WWI and WWII period stuff (really really informative), visited a topography of terror exhibit about the SS headquarters and visited the Anne Frank House and Dutch Resistance Movement Museum in Amsterdam. So if you need any information on WWII just ask I am sure we know more than you would ever need!!! We also visited the East Side Gallery which was AMAZING!!! It is the largest part of the berlin wall that is still standing and various artists from around the world painted different sections and the artwork is just awesome as well as are some of the messages.
We are off to Praque now for a week so we will keep you updated!!

BUSTED!!!

Today, we got busted by the Berlin subway cop for not having a valid ticket. Of course we didn't pay for a sub way ticket. We haven't paid for a ticket for the whole trip. We tried to play the dumb american but that didn't work. Then Monica tried to yell a little to see if that would help but it didn't work too. So we both ended up getting 40 euro fines, which is around $57 per person. But they did give a ticket to ride the train one way for two hour thought for free.

Monica had beer that monks made which had over nine percent alcohol you could definetly taste the alcohol she also had a cherry beer which was sugary and not very good my mussels costs me 19 euro which is 28 dollars most expensive dinner ever! It has gotten really cold so we
